Cara Atchison ‘MY BIG PLAN TO WIN!’

Publication - New Idea

AFTER A WILD TIME ON AUSTRALIAN SURVIVOR, WILL THIS EMPATH BE THE DARK HORSE?

After being voted out by the Brains tribe, Cara Atchison promptly returned in a shock twist as a new member of the opposing Brawns tribe. Feeling stronger than ever, Cara chats to New Idea about her strategy and names her biggest threat...

How did it feel to return to the game after you were voted out?

I left on my own terms and was also extremely happy to hand George a lifeline to fight on. That being said, I felt an amazing sense of surprise and delight to know I was going to continue with a new tribe. When I joined the Brawns tribe,

I was completely reinvigorated. The Brawns energy fed my soul … and I was heartbroken when the tribe swap happened so soon after. I couldn’t believe I was going back to the Brains tribe. Happily, I had George and my new Brawn friends with me.

How does being an empath advance your gameplay?

I am able to deep dive into genuinely open and frank conversations with my tribemates. Authentic sharing creates trust and real connections occur between people when they feel understood. It has always been this way for me – and I use this greatly to my advantage in the game.

What comforts from home do you miss the most?

I would have killed for a warm quilt – it is brutally cold and your body feels like glass after lying for a few hours in the rock-hard, cold bulldust.

Who is your biggest threat in the game?

At this point, I’ll say Dani. She holds a stronger position within the tribe. She’s also wary of George and I on the back of Hayley throwing us under the bus after I was complicit with George’s double-agent activity.
